The Role

Freelance Motion Designer,
five years with this client

For the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with Penguin Publishing Audio’s marketing team. My contributions span the creation of animated advertisements, digital and out-of-home campaign assets, and specialized social media assets for authors, all aimed at successfully launching hundreds of audiobooks.

Creative Challenges

Penguin’s project briefs are multifaceted, encompassing digital paid-advertising campaigns, social media assets for authors, and print materials for launch events.

My primary task involves translating the established visual identities of various audiobooks into animated trailers.

These visual adaptations serve to promote the audiobooks across digital platforms. The scope of these projects varies, ranging from single-asset briefs to expansive campaigns requiring 40+ assets disseminated across multiple platforms.

Daily design

My toolkit primarily consists of After Effects for animation and motion graphics, Premiere for subtitle integration, and Photoshop and Illustrator for asset creation.

I tend to work early starting at 6am UK time, I like to get the work out-the-door and into the clients inbox’s before they reach the office. It means they can feedback quickly and I never miss a deadline this way.

Award Winning

My collaboration with Penguin has garnered multiple BMS Marketing Awards, recognizing the efficacy of the campaigns for which I’ve provided visual assets.

Penguin stands as my longest-running client, and it’s been an immensely rewarding experience to work across their various in-house teams.

Together, we’ve succeeded in bringing authors’ works to life through compelling marketing campaigns.
