The Role

Lead Designer Google Social Team UK

In collaboration with Google UK’s Marketing Team, I was responsible for enhancing the brand’s digital presence through design, stop-motion animation, and motion graphics.

To manage the high volume of weekly asset production, I recruited a junior designer to work alongside me as part of the Social Team.

Creative Challenges

Navigating the saturated landscape of social media is a formidable task, even for a brand as recognizable as Google. Our objectives included capitalizing on trending topics, crafting compelling visual narratives for marketing campaigns, and generating print materials for pop-up events.

Daily design

We produced an array of stop-motion assets, capitalizing on the format’s popularity at the time. These assets not only performed well on our UK channels but were also frequently repurposed by Google’s larger U.S. channels for global use.

Experience

My experience at Google was as enriching personally as it was professionally. The work environment was exceptional, from the gourmet food that set a new culinary standard for me, to the pet-friendly policies that allowed my dog to accompany me daily. The overall experience was overwhelmingly positive, marked by a wonderful team and work culture.
